Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace plans to open a store in King of Prussia in late 2027, its first location in Pennsylvania. The Long Island-based grocer said the King of Prussia and Moorestown stores will offer house-made mozzarella and pasta, prepared foods, Italian deli items, traditional groceries, fresh produce, specialty cheeses and imported Italian products. The chain began operations in 2001 and plans to open a Levittown, New York, store in the fourth quarter of 2026, which would bring its total to 14 stores.
Why this matters: A new specialty grocer could increase competition for independent stores in the King of Prussia market, especially in prepared foods and imported products. Its planned assortment may also give local operators a benchmark for specialty offerings.
