Price Chopper/Market 32 launched a campaign featuring discounts on more than 1,000 products across nearly every store department. The grocer will mark the lowered prices with warm chartreuse shelf tags and feature savings in its weekly ads. Through Nov. 7, AdvantEdge Rewards offers 2% back on almost everything, replacing the previous points-based system. Receipts will show redeemed points as cash saved, with the grocer giving the example of 15 points shown as $5.15 earned and redeemed.

Why this matters: Independent grocers may face added pressure to show clear value as a large chain expands discounts and changes its rewards program.
