Inserra Supermarkets opened the ShopRite of Edgewater Commons on Sept. 19 at 481 River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey. The store occupies a former Acme space and is Inserra's 24th ShopRite. The 64,000-square-foot store will remain open during a two-year remodel.
Why this matters: The opening preserves full-service supermarket access for shoppers in the Edgewater community while the remodel takes place. Independent grocers and food-access groups can watch how the store maintains service during a major renovation.
