Instacart is rolling out new in-store software with select grocers and CPG brands. The tools create a real-time digital view of store shelves down to individual products, using shelf scans from Instacart shoppers and imagery from shoppers and Caper Carts. Inventory Intelligence will let store managers explore aisles and test stocking, merchandising, and planogram changes virtually. The Store Excellence Portal will give CPG brands a daily, store-level view of products on shelves, while Instacart said its approximately 600,000 shoppers visit stores across North America more than 15 times per store per day on average and generate over 10 million unique data points daily.

Why this matters: For independent grocers, shelf-level visibility could help managers spot inventory gaps and assess merchandising changes before making them in the store. The article does not provide pricing or access terms for the tools.
