- Illinois coverage is curated from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Illinois Grocery Initiative, the State of Illinois Newsroom, the Illinois Department of Revenue, and other authoritative state or local sources.
- National case studies and operating lessons may also come from USDA Rural Development, K-State's Rural Grocery Initiative, National Co+op Grocers, universities, established nonprofit organizations, and responsible journalism when the connection to food access or independent grocery is clear.
Each item should:
- Link to the original source
- Name the publisher and publication date when available
- Use a concise source-based summary rather than republishing the full article
- Explain why the item matters to food access, independent grocery, financing, policy, or community practice
- Be placed in the most specific news or opportunity board
Automated feed items enter the moderation queue as unapproved topics. A moderator checks relevance, dates, links, wording, and board placement before publication. New feeds are added only after their reliability and focus are verified. The system does not accept arbitrary URLs and does not scrape full articles.
