Revol Greens, a produce supplier to H-E-B, may shut down its Temple facility and is seeking a buyer for the company or site. The possible closure puts 116 jobs at risk, and the company said it will decide its next steps by Oct. 4. 80 Acres Farms said it will cut 166 jobs and close its San Antonio facility and other U.S. sites, while H-E-B is not currently receiving produce from the company. The cyclospora outbreak has killed two people and hospitalized hundreds. The FDA has not produced a positive test but is telling the public not to eat iceberg lettuce grown or processed in Mexico by Taylor Farms, and Walmart removed specified iceberg lettuce products from stores in 15 states, with best-by dates between July 18 and Aug. 3.

Why this matters: The closures could narrow produce supplier options for grocery operators and increase the value of backup sourcing plans. H-E-B said its produce section has not suffered from the suppliers' troubles.
