PCC Community Markets CEO Krish Srinivasan plans to retire in 2027 after leading the Seattle-based co-op since 2022. When he took over in early 2022, PCC posted an almost $250,000 operating loss and net sales of $422 million. PCC has announced income from operations of more than $900,000 and about $488 million in net sales. The co-op said Srinivasan's tenure more than doubled membership and strengthened compensation and benefits for unionized workers.

Why this matters: The leadership change gives PCC's members and board a transition to manage while the co-op works to maintain its reported financial gains. Other independent co-ops can view the case as an example of how executive decisions may affect financial stability, membership, and worker compensation.
