DoorDash introduced Brand Center, a platform that combines consumer purchase data with information collected by Dashers inside stores. Its Inventory Insights feature uses more than 1 million in-store shelf signals collected by Dashers on an average day to identify availability and out-of-stock trends. DoorDash said nearly 12% of shoppers choose a competing brand or product when an intended item is unavailable, while more than 40% request a refund instead of accepting a substitute. The platform is available to DoorDash advertisers in the United States, with some features limited to eligible advertisers, and includes tools for shelf audits, product counts, restocking, and promotional displays.

Why this matters: For independent stores on DoorDash, Brand Center could bring more brand monitoring of shelf conditions and create opportunities for paid audits, restocking, or display work in eligible locations.
