The National Grocers Association named Mike Ridenour as chief collaboration officer and senior vice president. Ridenour will help build relationships with food manufacturers and other grocery industry partners, and connect NGA members with consumer packaged goods companies. He previously served as vice president of industry relations for United Natural Foods, Inc., and held industry relations roles at Kraft Heinz and the former Kraft Foods Group.

Why this matters: Stronger ties between NGA members and consumer packaged goods companies could give independent grocers more opportunities to work directly with manufacturers and industry partners.
