The NGA Foundation launched a strategic plan focused on workforce development, operational support, succession planning and preserving independent ownership. It is recruiting independent grocers for task forces on frontline worker training and succession planning. Each task force will have approximately 10 to 15 members and meet virtually over the next six months. Grocers must express interest by September 18 and can contact NGA Foundation Vice President Chelsea Matzen.

Why this matters: Independent grocers can help shape training and succession resources based on their operating experience. The task forces may give operators practical tools for developing employees and planning ownership transitions.
